Psalm 4
For the music director, on stringed instruments. A Psalm by David.
1Answer me when I call, my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress.
Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
2Children of humanity, how long will my glory be turned into dishonor?
How long will y’all love what is worthless and seek lies? Selah.
3But y’all must know that YHWH has set apart the godly for ʜɪᴍꜱᴇʟꜰ;
YHWH will hear when I call to ʜɪᴍ.
4Y’all must tremble and not sin.
Y’all must search your* heart on your* bed and be silent. Selah.
5Y’all are to offer the sacrifices of righteousness.
and y’all are to trust in YHWH.
6Many are asking, “Who will show us anything good?”
Let the light of your face shine on us, YHWH.
7You have put gladness in my heart,
more than when their grain and their new wine abound.
8In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, YHWH, make me live in safety.
