Ephesians 1

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God,

To the saints in Ephesus and the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace and peace to y’all from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessings from Father, Son, and Spirit

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as ʜᴇ chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before ʜɪᴍ in love, having predestined us to adoption as children through Jesus Christ to ʜɪᴍꜱᴇʟꜰ, according to the satisfaction of ʜɪꜱ desire, to the praise of the glory of ʜɪꜱ grace, by which ʜᴇ freely gave us favor in the Beloved.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our transgressions, according to the riches of ʜɪꜱ grace which ʜᴇ lavished on us in all wisdom and understanding, making known to us the mystery of ʜɪꜱ will, according to ʜɪꜱ good pleasure which ʜᴇ purposed in him to an administration of the completion of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth. We were also chosen as ʜɪꜱ inheritance, having been foreordained according to the purpose of ʜɪᴍ who does all things according to the counsel of ʜɪꜱ will, to the end that we who first put our hope in Christ would be to the praise of ʜɪꜱ glory. When y’all heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your* salvation, having believed, y’all were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.

Thanksgiving and Prayer

For this reason, because I have heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among y’all and the love which y’all have toward all the saints, I never cease giving thanks for y’all, making mention of you* in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to y’all a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of ʜɪᴍ, having the eyes of your* hearts enlightened, that y’all may know the hope of ʜɪꜱ calling and the riches of the glory of ʜɪꜱ inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of ʜɪꜱ power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of ʜɪꜱ might which ʜᴇ worked in Christ when ʜᴇ raised him from the dead and seated him at ʜɪꜱ right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in one to come. Hᴇ arranged all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly, which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all in all.
