Psalm 2
1Why do the nations rage,
and the peoples murmur in vain?
2The kings of the earth take a stand,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against YHWH, and against ʜɪꜱ Anointed One, saying,
3“Let’s break their chains,
and throw off their ropes.”
4The one who sits in the heavens will laugh.
The Lord scoffs at them.
5Then ʜᴇ will speak to them in ʜɪꜱ anger,
and terrify them in ʜɪꜱ wrath:
6“I have installed my King on Zion, my holy mountain.”
7I will tell of the decree:
YHWH said to me, “You are my son.
Today I have begotten you.
8Ask of me, and I will give the nations as your inheritance,
the ends of the earth for your possession.
9You will break them with a rod of iron.
You will dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
10So now, kings, y’all must be wise.
Y’all are to be warned, judges of the earth.
11Y’all are to serve YHWH with fear,
and y’all are to rejoice with trembling.
12Y’all must kiss the Son, otherwise ʜᴇ be angry,
and y’all will perish on the way,
For ʜɪꜱ wrath will soon be kindled.
Blessed are all those who take refuge in ʜɪᴍ.
