Psalm 62
For the music director. To Jeduthun. A Psalm by David.
1My soul rests in God alone.
My salvation is from ʜɪᴍ.
2Hᴇ alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress.
I will never be greatly shaken.
3How long will y’all threaten a man?
All y’all are murderers,
like a leaning wall or a tottering fence.
4They fully intend to throw him down from his lofty place.
They delight in lies.
They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
5My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
for my hope is from ʜɪᴍ.
6Hᴇ alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress.
I will not be shaken.
7My salvation and my honor is with God.
The rock of my strength, my refuge, is in God.
8Y’all should trust in ʜɪᴍ at all times, people.
Y’all must pour out your* heart before ʜɪᴍ.
God is a refuge for us. Selah.
9Surely the children of humanity are but a breath,
important people but a falsehood.
Weighed on a balances, they will go up,
because together they are lighter than a breath.
10Y’all must not trust in oppression.
Y’all must not vainly hope in robbery.
If riches increase,
y’all must not set your heart on them.
11God has spoken once;
twice I have heard this,
Power belongs to God.
12and to you, Lord, belongs lovingkindness,
For you reward every person according to their work.
