Psalm 16

A Poem by David.

Protect me, God, for I take refuge in you. I say to YHWH, “You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing.” As for the holy people who are in the earth, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.

Those who desire another god will increase in sorrow I will not offer their drink offerings of blood, or take their names on my lips. YHWH is my portion and my cup. You make my lot secure.

The boundary lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. I will bless YHWH, who counsels me. Yes, even at night my mind instructs me. I have set YHWH continually before me. Because ʜᴇ is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices. My flesh will dwell in safety. For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will you allow your faithful one to see decay. You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.
