Discipline for Sexual Sin

1 Corinthians 5

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among y’all, and such sexual immorality as is not even among the ethnic groups, that a man has his father’s wife. And y’all are proud! Shouldn’t y’all have mourned instead, removed the person who did this from among y’all? For even though I am absent in body, I am present in spirit, and have already, as though I were present, judged the one who did this. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when y’all are gathered together, and I am with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, you are to deliver such a person to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Y’all’s boasting is not excellent. Don’t y’all know that a little yeast leavens the whole lump? Y’all must cleanse the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch, just as you are. For indeed Christ, our Passover, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us celebrate the feast, not with old yeast, or with the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

I wrote to y’all in my letter to have no company with sexually immoral people, not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the covetous, the swindlers, the swindlers, or the idolaters, for then y’all would have to leave the world. But now, I am writing to y’all not to associate with anyone who claims to be sibling but is sexually immoral or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or a swindler. Don’t even eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Don’t y’all judge those who are inside? But God will judge outsiders. “Remove the wicked person from among y’all.”+Deut 17:7
