Psalm 111
1Praise YHWH!+111:1 Psalm 111 is an acrostic poem, with each verse after the initial “Praise YHWH!” starting with a letter of the alphabet (ordered from Alef to Tav).
I will give thanks to YHWH with my whole heart,
in the council of the upright, and in the congregation.
2YHWH’s works are great,
pondered by all those who delight in them.
3Hɪꜱ work is honor and majesty.
Hɪꜱ righteousness endures forever.
4Hᴇ has caused ʜɪꜱ wonderful works to be remembered.
YHWH is gracious and merciful.
5Hᴇ has given food to those who fear ʜɪᴍ.
Hᴇ always remembers ʜɪꜱ covenant.
6Hᴇ has shown ʜɪꜱ people the power of ʜɪꜱ works,
in giving them the heritage of the nations.
7The works of ʜɪꜱ hands are truth and justice.
All ʜɪꜱ precepts are sure.
8They are established forever and ever.
They are done in truth and uprightness.
9Hᴇ has sent redemption to ʜɪꜱ people.
Hᴇ has ordained ʜɪꜱ covenant forever.
Hɪꜱ name is holy and awesome!
10The fear of YHWH is the beginning of wisdom.
All those who do ʜɪꜱ work have a good understanding.
Hɪꜱ praise endures forever!
